NEW MERIT BADGES!!
Two new merit badges will be available soon: Scouting Heritage and Inventing. They are the second and third new merit badges released in 2009/2010. The merit badge requirements are preliminary in nature at this time but final ones should be available shortly. Scuba Diving came out earlier in January. That MBP is now available in the Scout Shop.
-- Scouting Heritage will be a fun way to explore the history of Scouting and its values and is very apropos to our 100th Anniversary.
-- Inventing, being developed jointly with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's School of Engineering, is an interesting and practical exploration of inventing's impact on society and how a Scout can become personally involved.
We have been receiving a large number of requests for the requirements for the Geocaching and Robotics Merit Badge requirements. Unfortunately, these requirements are not yet complete. We also expect them to be firmed up within the next 30 days and will be released as soon as practical. The BSA standing volunteer committee will be considering several others at their February meeting. Look for more new merit badges coming soon!
