CAMP UPDATE!!

1. Infrastructure:

* Planters Electric Co-Op has brought electric cable under ground to the area of the Ranger’s compound.
* The water well for the Ranger’s compound is complete, awaiting connection of electricity for operation.
* The location for proposed bridge below the dam has been determined by our engineer. This will be a minimum 100 foot span over the creek and wet lands, providing primary access to the South side of the lake.

2. Lake:

* The lake is now virtually drained! Once our plan for cleaning the lake is approved by the COE, the work can begin. This plan is now being completed for submission to the COE.

3. Ranger’s Compound:

* J T Turner will build the three bed room house. Construction should begin the first week of July.
* The 6,000sf maintenance barn is ready for permitting.

4. Master Plan:

* Our concurrent focus is on building the Cub Scout Camp. This will include bath and eating facilities for, ultimately, about 300 campers.

5. Dining Hall:

* The DH in concept has been approved by the committee. The seating capacity will be 300. By the nature of the building’s design, we can build a LEED certified DH for almost no additional cost. This may assist in obtaining the funds to build. According to National’s records, this and a “science building” somewhere are the only LEED certified buildings in the whole Scout organization.
